The Army was an important part of my adult life.
I joined ROTC in college in 1982.
Enlisted in the National Guard in 1983.
Received my commission in 1986.
Retired in 2011 with a quarter century as a commissioned officer and 28 years of total military service.
I've been retired for 13 years, longer than I was a major and lieutenant colonel combined.
