Oh Yeah?

Well, in the video I watched I got to see the pilot in the other airplane when they flew together with their canopies almost touching. Well, at that speed they sure looked close! Wonderful!!! It was also a good tutorial on Panel lines-Or the lack of!

Astounding air-to-air video BAs and TBs

I was eating lunch and viewing youtube when I saw something about a joint flyby of Blue Angels and Thunderbirds.  This sounded interesting, so I watched it.  It was fabulous!  Most of mit was from the cockpits of the planes. Nowe, I have to explain that I was a lens designerfor advanced military video cameras, so I can appreciate the technology here.  The cameras were both wide angle and zoom.  This is extremely hard to do but someone did it.  At least 4K video too.  This was the best video I have seen in many years!

Now, this was a flyover (or fly-by) so not much acro, but it was still wonderful.  In some shots the canopy camera was showing the cockpit a d fabulous video of Manhatten at same time.

The video ended with a session of air to air refueling of the planes.  I have never before seen such quality video of the process.  It is about 17 min long and well worth the time.
