I've got a 120GB iPod Classic that I have about half full (around 7800 songs) that I listen to on random play. It's loaded with country, bluegrass, rock, pop, classical, R&B....pretty much everything but rap. According to the stats on it, with that many songs, on random play, without turning it off, it would take almost two months to play all the songs once. So far, I haven't tried to stay up that long to see......

Art Bell is also supposed to make a return this month. (for like the 100th time!!!) He does have issues but I like to listen to him.
Don't listen to music while building anymore. Brings up to many memories (good and bad) that I starting concentrating on instead of building. You older guys will more likely "know what I mean" than you younger ones.

I fergot a few .Lot'sa country of the travelin variety, Willie , Chris , Johnny and more , Mustn't forget the Texas Toubador George Strait ! And any Tennessee Ernes Ford stuff . Plus Les Paul and Mary Ford - Boy could those two do a job !
Surprisingly , one of the songs I let repeat for a while when building ships is " Gordon Lightfoot's " Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald " .I actually got to touch her before that year , And last but not least a re-mastered copy to C.D. of all the " Hooked on Classics" from years back . Remember those ? Free with a fill up over ten gallons - - .$ 2.50 otherwise !
I have a 22" tv on the end of my bench, it's usually something on satellite tv, (Sci-Fi, history or chopped) or like right now it's the entire run of stargate on dvd, next might Babylon 5. it is a little distracting but if I know the episode i hardly have to look up, except for the really good parts.

I used to really dig them, back in the day (have a couple songs on my phones play list).
Back in the early 90's, my band booked a gig at an old mechanics garage (turned small concert venue), out in the middle of nowhere, in Lawrence Kansas (this place was literally in the middle of a corn field!). Anyway, we had no idea we were opening for Overkill, until we showed up...hell of a surprise!!!

Podcasts... baseball, soccer, history. BBC news. History-type documentaries or TV series on my tablet. Thinking of having a screen of some sort in my new workshop area.
Mostly soft jazz and classical. The non-lyrics and soothing melodies really help me focus. I cant stand sitting there in complete silence. Sometimes I'll listen to Pink Floyd as well. 'Dark Side of the Moon' is my favorite. I dont like listening to anything too heavy or loud because it breaks my concentration.

Mix of late 70s and 80s rock and some pop, some country, a little harder rock. Got about 2.5 days worth of music on the iphone and just let it randomly play.
I am also a guitar player and a have a few guitars in my collection. I am a late 70's on up type a guy. I use to just listen to Hard Rock and Metal, but as my guitar playing progressed so did my taste in music. I found myself listening to all tpes of Fusion music and eventually full blown Jazz, so my taste is rather eclectic. I have a Spotify channel loaded up with all types of stuff that I turn on when I'm working.
I go to Youtube and select a mix of 'Epic' music or the classics like Wagner's the Ring Cycle.
On the bench: So many hanger queens.
On my radio, I've got George Nory and Art Bell playing. When I'm not listening to them, I've also discovered the joys of Spotify where I have Meatloaf, ABBA, Elvis, The Bee Gees, Sammy Davis Jr, Nelson, Philip Glass and the movie scores of Danny Elfman playing.

Archived tv broadcasts.
I find that some old tv broadcasts I saved to VHS are still very viewable on my HD tv, so I'm archiving them.
Oddly, the Star Wars VHS trilogy tapes don't look nearly as good on the HD tv as my off air recordings.
I use Pandora and I have everything from the 40's up to mid 90's of all genre...No rap or hip hop.

It depends on the time of the year, and the day of the week.
During the winter, it's talk radio. Mark Levin and John Batchelor, during the week, Larry Kudlow and weekend wrapups on Saturdays, and gardening and polka shows Sunday mornings, and more talk radio Sunday evenings (Handel on the Law, Bill Cunningham, and also, a polka show).
During baseball season, it's Phillies games in the evenings, and I spend less time at the bench and more time outside in the beer garden:

I too am a fan of old tv broadcasts. Unfortunately, most of what I recorded on VHS was lost, but I do find old tv broadcasts at StumpyDisks.com. You can find old uncut broadcasts on DVD-R of Svengoolie, TNT Monstervision, Big Chuck and Little John, MTV, Headbangers Ball, just about anything. If you do go there, just click on the "New s**t" heading and all of the stuff he has available comes up in a list. His prices are a little steep though, but he has a lot of stuff you're not going to find anywhere else.
I couldn't watch something, while I'm working at my bench. Auditory distractions are one thing, but visual distractions are quite another.
