Sounds like the wife's got you by the short and curlys there, Chris. Guess you could store any others in the shed, as she only mentioned "in the house." Ever thought about converting part of your store to a model room?

Did she specify what kind of kits?
unfinished vs. finished, armor vs. aircraft, 1/72 vs 1/48, etc. Wink [;)]

Well I got the official word today " You may not have anymore than 100 kits in the house for any reason purpose or excuse what so ever!".......

I doubt I'll ever get that many unbuilt kits lying around.......but just in case I do....I have her on a technicality LOL! She said in the house.....

Which DOES NOT include my detached workshop out back!

Only about 25. Including the ones I'm working on. And my wife thought I was crazy untill I showed her another thread on this topic this spring. And between Woody and BlackwolfSCD (over 3,000 if I remember correctly), she eased up alot.

I have 120 unbuilt kits. They are predominately armor kits, but I have a few aircraft and one F1 kit. I didn't include resin conversion kits or accessory kits. If those are included the total is pushing 140 unbuilt kits.

I have about 160. But my wife thinks that about a third of that belongs to friends who want them built. LOL. I try not to buy more, but Im an absolute failure at this. Everytime I go to the hobby shop I just have to come home with something in hand.

I've jumped from 3 to 12 in just a few months. I've never had that many stockpiled. However, there has been to many good deals to pass up.

I have at this time 10 unbuilt kits. I am working on three others at this time. Have promised myself and she who must be obeyed that until I finish the three Im working on then start and finish the leopold (awaiting for workbench space), my collection would not increase (Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg].

To nicholma. I have been retired for 12 months now on still find it hard to complete kits, in fact the 3 I am working I have been working on for the last 12 months. I seen to have more commitments now than I had when I was working.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

I think I am up to about 250 or so and rising.
I am also seriously considering selling some online because at my rate of building I will be gone before I finish half of them.

I wonder if their should be a twelve step program for modelers and model collecters.

I've got about 100 unbuilt, about 60 are 43rd (all race/rally cars) about 12 x 12th (race cars), 15 x 24th/20th race/rally, 5 x 350 warships, 2 x 72nd warships, 3 x 48 aircraft. I build when I'm in the mood but target about 1 per month plus I try to build the equivalent number of kits I purchase during the year so in effect I'm reducing my stock by at least 12 a year. 30 kits is the most I've ever done per year and 3 the least. Oh to be retired !!

I'm down to about 30 unbuilt. At least I've made some progress on the 50 I had at the beginning of the year...

I'm lucky I guess because my wife doesn't care how many kits I have. She used to help with sales at hobby shows and at that time I had more like 5000 kits! If anything she wants me to get back into vending at shows! Anyone ever been to the Kingcon in Memphis, Tenn?

About 7 years ago I gave away about 500 to a couple of Boys clubs and a boy scout troop. Since then I have built up to about 50 and I intend to build all of them.Whistling [:-^] At least that's my intention. We'll see if that happens.Big Smile [:D]Approve [^]

Last time I looked it was 350 to 375 - and yes my wife has asked me the same questions your wife is asking you - that's what wives do - Just be honest with her and as long as you are not keeping food away from the baby or spending this months rent check you shouldn't have any major problems.

I'm not really sure to tell you the truth. I've sold off a bunch this year but I guess about 2000 give or take. Recently I found another couple of boxes of vacs I'd forgotten about with about 300 kits in them. I'm not a nut, I used to be a vendor. My personal stash has only about 350 1/72 aircraft kits. That includes the kits I intend to build and the kits I collect. Wink [;)]
