Anyone can critique this vendor?
Posted by larryd on Sunday, September 21, 2008 3:44 PM

I just placed a $60 order from this site and got an auto thanks email, but then today looked at the News page of the site and saw the last update was 2006.

I'd never ordered had I seen that.

So far they haven't charged my card I submitted for the order. I had unfortunately only seen their Products page.

They don't answer email either but it is only 1 1/2 days. Anyway, anyone know them?

Carl is a stand up guy. He supports all the New England clubs as a vendor.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Hopefully as mentioned above your order is in good hands. But it begs me to ask...why would you order from someone whom you have questions (red flags) about in the first place...putting the cash out before seeing the horse so to speak. You broke the first rule of internet purchasing...when in doubt...WAIT. That is until you get feedback or in touch with the vendor. We hear so often about bad experiences with purchasing on the internet...usually it is a direct result of the lack of consumer common sense. I'm not picking on you...just pointing out to my fellow modelers...go with your first impulse if you feel any hint of doubt...WAIT!

Be sure to share the outcome with your transaction...good bad or indifferent.

Thanks for the note on Carl.

I had saved the link to the site from a scale model forum some time ago, no idea which.

I had seen an update for kits on the site as late as august 2008, but had just stumbled on their News site today and saw the lack of updating from 2006, and it scared me some. :)

If anyone had a quick poor experience remark I had time to block the payment (Sunday) as it wasn't charged yet. :)

Regardless you are most correct. I certainly should have inquired before ordering, and considering I order a lot online without an issue but once I may be fortunate this time it wasn't a shutdown store still taking money.

So hopefully I'm set for the Eduard sdkfz251/10 w/pak PE sheets, Verlinden sdkfz251 resin engine and PE detail set, and German Tool Boxes!   Make a Toast [#toast]
