Is It Finished Yet?

Are you sure?

How can you tell?

The biggest problem I have with modelling is deciding when the job is finally done. - How about you?

This is a good question!

For me, I will detail and weather a kit and then let it sit a few days. I will then go back and look at it. It sort of clears your mind. You can look at it in a different perspective, without having worked on it for a day or so.

Well, sometimes I will work on a kit until I simply can't bear the thought of painting even one more detail. As with my ST:TNG Enterprise-D... all those "aztec" pattern panels and the hundreds of tiny windows, I simply decided that enough was enough. On to the decals!!

It's pretty much done when I apply the last coat of clear flat and glue it on a base.

Only with armor, when I build a car or A/C I know when I am done and don't feel compelled to mess with it ever. But the few armored pieces I have done I constantly mess with. A little more dry brushing here, try some pastels here, add a gas can..... Armor never ends.

Finishing a model must be like achieving nervana-you go around in circles, fixing this and that, ocassionally mess up really bad and start over, and when it happens it's oh-so-good Big Smile [:D]
