Dianes #3 Dale Earnhardt Car pics....4images
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, November 22, 2003 11:15 PM
Due to the requests to see the pics when done I decided to post them here. The pictures were a big disappointment Walmart botched the processing on most of them and the only salvageable ones look like crap because I used the Rebel instead of the trusty AE5 w/ Macro lens....Sorry but here they are. I helped her with some but not much the main thing I did was paint behind the wheels to simulate Brake Rotors as well as scrubbing the tires to remove the seams....

Car on side shot with drivers side wheels off

Over head shot....oops I forgot to put the front drivers side wheel back on!Black Eye [B)]

Front shot which really looks like crap! I know better but was being rushed to take these.....by who I dont know! LOL Should have arranged for better lighting and used a white background!

Rear quarte panel shot....

Diane says let her have it! What do you think?

Diane just reminded me to take credit for the decals also....after she ripped the dash decal and put the grill decal on crooked she threw her hands up....and walked away. So like a good husband I calmed her down and showed her how to do it and only cussed a few times in the process LOL.

She also wants to thank you all for the kind words.....HEHE but I wont let her have the computer besides its passed her bedtime! ROFL

Looks pretty good Diane. Pretty ambitious decal project on those NASCAR models. Looks like you handled it pretty well.

I still think you should do some armor........

Looks great Diane. I have yet to do a modern NASCAR because I hate decals. SO what kind of tank are you going to do?

Thank you all! It was rather fun, I did get frustrated after the first two decals as Chris said. But he showed me how to work with them, I think he even suprised his self with them he hates Water decals. The body was pre-painted but the only thing on there were the number 3's on the top and sides. Im going to do another one in the future and see how it turns out.

As far as a tank I'm not sure, yet. I want something fairly easy to build which I have had several recomendations. I'm also trying to get in touch with my brother who was in the Army and did something with tanks, cant remember what though! I know he didnt drive them. So I think the tank project will be on hold for another week or two.

Woody I plan on building a plane soon as well, Im still debating my options on that.
As far as the bug goes well they wont be done until after Chris's birthday. Its no secret Im getting him an airbrush compressor for one of his gifts because he has to pick it out as I know nothing about them. But I am also making him get one that will power his air tools as well as his airbrush.

Can you believe he actually tried talking me into letting him get it early!?! "Diane, you know we cant finish your bug until I get my compressor, right?" Yes, dear I know and I can wait a few more days just like you can! He is relentless! LOL

Thank you all!

Beautiful job, Diane. You can wait a few more days? I have never been any good at that. You are building a bug but soon you will be bitten by one.Approve [^]Big Smile [:D]

It's total and utter crap. Chris what's up with the focus, man?!? ...We're talking about the pictures, right? OH, the model! The model's great! Big Smile [:D]

Man, i must've build that exact same model before and it turned out like crap (there were too many extra engine pieces leftover)! the simple fact that you got all the pieces under the hood is an accoplishment in itself! Keep up the good work, Diane! Oh, and "just between you and me" an airbrush (and it's accomanying compressorWhistling [:-^]) will do wonders for your model. or so i'm told... Wink [;)]

I can hear her rev up already. Vroom, vroom.

Very nice work Diane. Yeah, Eric is right. The picture thing is Chris' fault. (He-he-he).

Good job.

Looks to be a fine build Diane. Maybe Chris can take some pictures with the other camera and give us some new ones. How about a Rusty Wallace next time? Big Smile [:D]
