I bought a batch of Big Putty from Walgreen's. It has the same consistency of Silly Putty and there was more in the egg so that's nice. I've masked three or four aircraft with it now and it is working about as well now as it did the first time. Maybe a little less sticky, but it was never completely sticky to begin with. I can see flecks of paint from the previous camo jobs in the paint but it seems to be working fine. I love using this stuff, and it's certainly a lot easier than cutting paper or tape.

Cheers,

Aaron

I've been using the same Silly Putty for 2 years. Like was mentioned above, it has lost some of it's stickiness, but it still works. I actually like it better after some use.

Oddly enough, the paint just seems to disappear.... for the most part, it's still Silly Putty color.

There's an article in the latest FSM where a guy masks a ship with silly putty.

Yea and no. It won't work as well but it still will mask. It will stick less so that is a con. Try it out on a junk model and see if it works.

is silly putty reusable after you use it as a masking agent?  does the paint effect its consistencey? thanks in advance.
