Also, glue should not touch paint.  To properly glue parts there should be no paint where the glue goes.

You're welcome Pats Fan!  I live in the woods but have a 5 ft. wide TV to watch the Patriots.  Why is it that all the hobby stores are either on the seacoast or in the southern part of the state?

I will prime if the color of the plastic is quite a bit different from the coat of paint.  I like to have as few coats of paint as possible especially when surface detail might suffer from sucessive coats.

For glue I use Tenax or Ambroid plastic welder, but find Testors glue (black bottle, metal needle) better for some assemblies.  For large joints I often use 5-minute epoxy because it is quite strong.  For small details I'll often use CA glue but I try to avoid using it on joints that need to be strong as a CA bond tends to weaken over time.

Hi! Welcome to the forums! Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

I prime most (If there's a minor piece I add on after the main priming, I usualy just glue it on without priming it.. If it can wait, I usualy include it in the next primer time when I got more parts). As for what primer I use, I got some industrial type primer (Probably the same asautomotive primer) and they are way better than most of the hobby primers...

As for glue, I use Tamiya Extra Thin cement almost all the time. It also destroys the paint, but it's just to be careful where you apply it... And don't use much cement... I use very little, in fact..

That's my story... More will come I'm sure!
