QUOTE: The only thing I want this year is time. Time to build the models I want to finish.

I'll second that. I don't want kits or even gift certificates to the LHS [:0](my usual request). This year all I want is time. I've been going so flat-out with work that I haven't touched plastic in over six weeks! I think I'm going through withdrawal symptoms.

Hey djmodels,

There is almost nothing better on a rainy Saturday evening than sitting down to a pot of moulles, a plate of frites, and a Chimay Blue. I just got back last year from a two year stay in Belgium. I think it is the most underrated country in Europe - great place. There was an excellent hobby shop just five minutes from our house!

For Christmas I hope for the following:
Academy 1/32 F-18
Tamiya 1/32 F-15E
Accurate Miniatures B-25B
Minimill

What I will settle for is:
Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari F2001
AMT Chrysler 300
Monogram 1/48 F-15E

Thanks everyone. Don't worry too much about us. I knew it was coming but it never ceases too amaze me how difficult people can be at times. We've still got some time to find another place and I have a really good job. It's tough to celebrate the holidays with this sort of thing hanging over your head. Actually I managed to hold the guy off long enough so we wouldn't have to move right before Xmas so at least we could have a Xmas. There is one thing I've come to understand over the last few years and that is that no matter how bad you have it there is always someone worse off than you are. As many problems as both of my kids have, I have seen many children who have far worse troubles.

Thanks again averyone for your kind words. Hey, remember those books I wanted? I think they're on their way!

Sorry, have to go. 4 year old and cat destroying tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have sat here for the last 10 minutes literally just reading this over and over...thinking what does one say.
Richard I am deeply sorry to hear that. I hope that things will turn out better for you very soon! I think Scott and David basically said what I want and am trying to say the best....

Richard, I'm not sure what to say. It's surely not the way anyone wants to enter the holiday season, especially with children. I do hope things get better for your family and you get back on your feet. The positive side, it sounds like your wife is a fighter and I hope she continues to recover. All I can say is enjoy your family and your time together. That's what is important.

My heart goes out to you, Richard. What can one really say? I hope the holidays bring you bluer skies, and may blessings fall on you and your family in this time of need.

Well, my landlord gave me his present already........he had the sheriff serve me with an eviction. My wife is currently recovering from a serious illness and we have two disabled childen. Merry Christmas. Wait a minute, I wasn't hoping for this. What I'm hoping for is more submarine reference books. We put up the tree today anyway. With the blizzard raging outside, it at least looks Christmassy.

you know, I find it supremely unfair that guys can't wear diamonds. they really are pretty... I remember walking into tiffanys with my mom as a kid and telling me not to touch anything! I love the six-pronged tiffany setting with, maybe a V V S in it. Carat doesn't impress me, claraty and color however do... life is unfair. Wink [;)]

I wonder what aliens will think when they dig up the remnants of earth thousands of years from now and come across our models: "these humas sure were tiny, and they come in different sizes!" Big Smile [:D]

Hey, Cassibill, you wouldn't be a Philo major, would you? i have a friend that used to live in Luvain because his mom was getting her PhD there or something. seems to have worked because now she's moved on from being Dept. Chairperson of the Philo to being vice president of the university or some such.

As for what i want from santa... an airbrush and compressor would be nice, but what i really want is that diploma!

I hoping to get a model kit or two. I go to the shop with my lady, pick out a handful and she makes the final decision. That's fun!

Over and out.

Tamiya 1/35 M1A1 Abrams and a Paasche airbrush. If the Abrams fall through I've also got my eye on the Academy Panther G Late Version.

first of all, I hope I still have a job to support this hobby
secondly, could Santa's little helpers help me with some of the models I stacked in the closet?
