I couldn't agree more. I am also in the process of constructing my own house on a small lot that I bought from my savings. Almost all the money is being sucked into the construction and even I don't even see it being finished yet. Well, things will eventually get better after this. I hope.

Yeah I hope so too .As for the priorities, its funny how buying a new house and pouring everything you can spare time and expense wise into paying for and improving it can become almost life consuming. Lucky for me being a carpenter /horticulturalist means at least I don't need to spend too much on tradesmen.
I still nonetheless try to keep a bit put aside for modelling though.Get it when I can afford it.You know how it is,
cheers,
Sulo

I am sorry to hear that, sulo. Well, we have our own priorities and this is just a hobby and I salute you for knowing and keeping your priorities covered. Anyway, I hope that we can see your works in the future.

Good luck.

Got a problem there Dwight. Distinct lack of up to date technology at my house plus unavoidable alternative domestic priorities decree that unfortunately my little works of art will remain hidden from the world for awhile longer yet ! Bit frustrating that I get to see so many others' models on the web but can't show my own.
Oh well, I'm happy at least that I've discovered this forum that I can now talk to so many other kindred modelling souls.

Well, we need a breath of fresh air every once in a awhile. It is probably the same thing that happenned to me lately. I have been doing tanks for a couple of months now and when it came to my next project (British Challenger II) I thought I had become too lazy. Then somethings came up to me and suddenly I found myself doing mini dios mostly with figures. It felt great. Then after that I somehow found the interest to to back to my Challenger.

We need to do something different sometimes to break the monotony.

Hope to see your works soon.

Gday everybody
I dunno why,but I want to model more soft skinned vehicles and artillery lately.I've done a few small nonthreatening type things like Tamiyas Kubelwagen and Bmw motorcycle with the sidecar, and the AFV Club Sd.Kfz 11 half track [still looking for those aftermarket tracks] ,and now I find myself daydreaming about an article I read with the Tamiya Steyr and a verlinden radio detail set. That plus an AFV FH18 105mm to go with the halftrack.
I think it must be that you can cover them with accessories and they go great in dioramas next to one of those things with the tracks and the big gun at one end !
