I hear ya.  I remember when some companies were accepting pre-orders for the much anticipated AmTech P-61 line.  I'm glad I didn't put money down on that little venture.  By the way, I REALLLLLY wish someone would pick up the ball and come out with that new line-up of P-61s!

I do some preorders with companies overseas and have literally been on waiting lists for months. I never put money down on a kit, I just wait for it to be released because the company could go out of business in the meantime...ugh..  In those preorder cases I just put my name on a wait list and the company keeps me up to date with the status of kits.

I ordered over the phone, it was explained to me that the price had gone up from what was going to be the MSRP. I did still get it less than what people who did not pre-order ended up paying ($80 vs. $100).

Thanks for the info, Rob.  I was just wondering if you complained to them about being charged more for the kit than the pre-ordered price.  How did they justify the higher price?  Or was it just an "oversight" on their part?

Thanks,

Eric

I dealt with them once, bought the 1/32 scale Trumpter A-10A via pre-order. When the kits finally came in (there was a delay in shipment for everyone), I was charged more for the kit than the pre-order price. I did receive my kit and recently traded it off for an armload of AFV kits.

I still get a newletter from them every once in a blue moon.

Your opinions of Nostalgic Plastic?

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd probe your minds and get your opinions on any dealings you may have had with Nostalgic Plastic.  A good friend of mine made a partial payment to them to reserve the new 1/48 TSR-2.  Apparently Nostalgic Plastic sent him an e-newsletter saying a shipment came in but my friend did not hear anything regarding the completion of his order.  He's tried calling...no answer.  He's sent e-mail....no responses.

Has anyone else had good or bad experiences with Nostalgic Plastic?

Thanks,

Eric
