clubs in the Dallas area

I'd kinda like to introduce my two grandsons to modeling, and they live in Plano TX. Are there any clubs close by?

That's not too far from where they live. I'll take them over there right after Easter.

IPMS North Central Texas typically meets the second Sunday of the month at the Senter Garden & Arts center in Irving.   (IIRC, this month it will be the fourth Sunday, and will be held at the Squadron Mail Order facility in Carrollton).

Be sure to mark your calendar for the last weekend in May.  IPMS-NCT's annual show 'ScaleFest' will be held at the Grapevine Convention Center.   As part of the festivities,  the Squadron warehouse will be holding an open house.

I used to live in Plano and if I remember correctly there was a pretty good model store at the corner of Parker and Independence tucked back in the corner of the strip mall. I hope it still exists, I used to like going in there. But it has been a few years now.

That was a HobbyTown at Parker & Independence.  It has since closed that location and moved.

there used to be a little place there that sold used records. I bought about fifty off of them once dirt cheap, The guy said nobody played them anymore and there were no turntables out there. I kept my mouth shut and handed him $25!! (about half were Count Basie and Duke Ellington recordings [worth a fortune]). Daughter lives about fiveminutes from there.
