Tamiya still makes putty, hobby shops in Japan usually carry 4 or 5 variants of it.  May have just become too expensive to import with the poor exchange rate.

Bilbirk...stay safe.

As far as the Tamiya putty it looks like it has been discontinued oh well.  The Bondo Red Glazing putty looks like a good alternative.  Is this stuff sold at places like Auto zone or checkers?

The LHS's simply can not carry every item sold by all manufacterer's, best bet is to check with the better on-line store's and see if they carry it, if so they you can buy it or go direct to Tamiya USA and check there, you can buy direct from them also, but you will pay more

First off  let me be the first to welcome you back. Congrats on the new son and the baby on the way. Right now I've put the models on hold cause I'm overseas but next year I will be back at ruining plastic left and right. Can't help you on the putty but maybe somebody else will help out.

I have been away for all most 3 years.  I just started to finish a model I started 3 years ago.  Since then we had a son and another on the way.  I have been extremely busy.  Any ways I am sure many of you may have experienced leaving the hobby for various reasons.  Its good to start modeling again.

I went to my local hobby store to stock on some items and they do not carry Tamiya Basic Putty anymore.  Has this product been discontinued?  I have search the forums and nothing so far.
