Well I have the base color on. I just gotta paint the weapons, detail items, and then it's weathering time. These shots are under flourescent light and flash. I can see where the paint is thin in some of the cockpit area here, but under daylight to the naked eye, you really can't see it.

 About every 5th or 6th build is a nice 1/72 propjob, 1 day, decompression build. I do everything I normally would, without any extras, straight OOB, a bit of weathering. I usually pick up 3-4 at each contest, great deals, under $5.

Close to an hour building...that includes using solvent to assemble, cleaning up the seams and building like I would normally, not just screwing it together. Other than the******poor painting of the canopy frame...I was down to the wire on the 2 hr time limit...this would hold its own at a slam build contest. The trick is to get everything done to win...I think I pretty much accomplished that. I have another one in the stash waiting for the next slamcomp.

2 hrs????!!!! I like it! how much time building and how much time painting? I know the major components screw together. I have the A6M3 in my stash. The decal sheets alone are worth the cost of those kits. They bring back the "kid fun" aspect of model building. That certainly looks like $10 well spent Hawkeye!

Most of the time was spent painting...I could have used a bit more time on the canopy but this was a great exercise...it didn't turn out too bad either for a $10 1:32 aircraft model.

Sadly, no. The last build I finished was my M-3 Scout Car and that took six months or so to finish.(but at least it turned out pretty damn good.)

It is a nifty little craft. Now I must admit that after your last post I did an image search. I learned that there was a .50 pintle mount aft of the crew compartment... well since the kit did not come with a .50 that just would not do.. fortunately I have several of the Academy U.S. Machine Gun sets... and so now my LSSC will also now have a Ma Deuce... plus 3 M60s and a Mk 20 40mm grenade launcher... lots of firepower on this little beast. Painting will begin tomorrow, weather permitting.

OK Philo, for you friend...

The last weekend GB was a blast. I had considered suggesting one for Labor Day weekend but figured too many people would use this last long weekend for awhile to get out of town, spend time with the family, etc. and rightfully so.

However, the crappy cold days are coming soon. I am convinced that this relativley mild summer we enjoyed where I am will be followed by a brutal (read; plenty of time at the bench),winter. I would be down for more weekend GB's during the winter.

Maybe I should take this to the GB forum?

Wirraway, somebody did the Weekend Group Build a while back... this one would have been perfect....

Philo, I actually did take my time.. I think I broke it up in to three two hour sessions. Lower hull and crew compartment, upper hull, and finally the stern and weapons. I think the parts count was under 100...most unusual for Dragon, LOL! But now I need a PBR to sit alongside....

I'll get some pics of the before painting work up this evening... gonna go out to dinner with the family here shortly.
