Big Smile [:D] It's been snowing,I have a sore throat but today was mild so I treated myself to a trip to Warsaw. Only wanted some photoetched 54mm sword blades from Jaders shop. Walk in and there it is..... 1/72 U BOAT.
YES>>> He drove to Germany yesterday to collect 6 and has sold 4 already. Nice kit. OK, Details... 5 versions.552 early and late.69,82,203,253. Very very good moulding with raised welding lines and rivets. 2 types of conning tower. optional spray guard for conning tower. Railings are thin and look in scale.Nice decals and thin flag sheet without swastika of course but no problem. Instruction book has 76 stages!!!!! but huge box is filled with carboard and two hull halves!
Two other plastic bags with rest of parts would fit in 1/48 Tamiya plane box.
Now I have to decide whether or not to make it as is or as a waterline. I paid 248 Zloty with 10% loyalty discount which is about 60 Dollars. What is it Stateside?Big Smile [:D]

Yep,my names down for the Czechmaster figures. Model is just shy of 37inches long. About 7 inches high and 3 and 1/2 inches wide at mid point. periscope is movable and for this size the raised welds look about right. Clean crisp mouldings, good fit make it look good enough for a tamiya moulding. Revell germany have certainly pulled out all the stops on this one. Put your Revell misgivings aside. This is good. I want one on the stand and one waterline on the stormy North Atlantic with crew.Big Smile [:D]

Now this presents a really tough choice - the U-boat, or should I hold out for the Trumpeter Nimitz??
