I thought that using a hair dryer to dry some putty was a good idea, until I got to close and melted the plastic and ruined the part. I e-mailed Tamiya but they said they won't get the part until 3 months. Any ideas to get it sooner?
I did the same thing but with a lamp instead of a hair dryer. I wanted the paint to dry and was just impatient. Ended up ruining a Tiger hull.
What part did you ruin? Tell us what you need and someone may have a spare.

My sad story involved a heat lamp and the final clear coat so I could get to a show in time. Two months of Mig went down the toilet and I vowed never to use heat to dry paint on a styrene or resin model.
Ideas? Just one: start another model.
Meanwhile ask around the forums. You might turn up what you need.
