What will your first 2010 build be?
Posted by PaintsWithBrush on Thursday, December 24, 2009 9:57 AM

Having finished up my most recent project (pictures coming soon to the aircraft forum), I am taking a little rest for the Christmas/New Years week before diving back into the building pool, and this is what is next on deck.

This will be my first ever experience with the AFV Club brand and it looks like it will be a fun build.

So what project do YOU have awaiting the start of 2010?

Regards, PWB.

Im not really tied to a calendar-driven build regimen. So, my first build will be a hold over:

1/72 F-100.

It is from a GB I lost the deadline on, so I'll just persevere on it.

I will be pulling out my 1/72 scale F-35 STOVL to finally finish......after taking a break of 6 months. Add to that a 1/144 scale B-1B ACC Lancer for the 144 GB. This will be my first time building more than one kit.

I really like that Stuart (one of my favs). Can't wait to see how it builds. I built the older Tamiya kit many years ago. Good luck. Can't wait for some pictures!

Ditto to that! I recently started a JS-II and a T-72 for GB's, thus I'll be working on those when 2010 rolls around. After that my next build is still a mystery......I'm waiting for AMPS to really expand my stash.

If I ever manage to finish the Wildcat that's been on the bench since March, it'll be Revell's JU-88.

First to be finished in 2010 are some old Macross kits ( Queadlunn Rau, large missile Regult variant, and the Zentran battleship with the tongue-twister name ) and a 1:700 Typhoon class sub.  I also got out a PL Klingon cruiser that should be done pretty quickly ( oops, I just jinxed that project! Bang Head ).

There's also over a dozen other kits I'll be chipping away at, but the ones above are closest to done.

Lined up to be started are a VF-25 from Macross Frontier, a couple of QF-4000 Ghost Fighters from the set included in the recon version of the -25 ( hoping to do a decent job of customizing those ), and "The Beast" ( PL 1:350 Enterprise ).

Just to chime in...

As I stated in a previous post...

My first build of 2010 and my first build ever will be a Revell Sopwith Camel F.1 in 1:48 scale.

Hans von Hammer has me all fired up to do a Eagle Squadron Spitfire Vb in his "Before They Were Aces" GB.  I'll build a 1/48 Tamiya Vb in Don Gentile's "Buckeye Don" markings.

The first one I'll finish will probably be an Eduard 1/48 Albatros D.V for HvH's "Before they were aces" GB, a great concept for a GB. The first one I'll start will have to be my Tamiya 1/48 A6M5. It really looks like a sweet kit! Yes

I wish I was up and running. I would have tried to join "the Hammer's" GB. I have a Spit Mk. I and a Hurricane that are just begging to have my AeroMaster Eagle Squadron Decals placed on them! LOL.

As it is my absent WB already has two projects on it for the 144 GB. I just can't wait to start building again!

1:32 Revell Rf-4C which is in both the "Eyes in the sky" (recon craft) GB and the 2010 Pahntom GB.

I was stoked to pick it up on e-bay for $20.  Being the recon version it just didnt attract any bids........

When I'm finished with the Tamiya "Gepard" and Trumpeter PT-76B I'm planning on starting the AFV Club Stryker Mobile Gun System.

I've seen on a couple postings elsewhere that Trumpeter has six different Stryker variants due for release this year!  I can't wait!  I heard somewhere that Trumpeter is going to release a kit for all ten Stryker variants!!  AWESOME!!!  That and the up-armored BMP-3!!

On the bench:  AFV Club M730A1 Chaparral

On deck:  Tamiya Marder 1A2

It'll probably be Airfix's 1/72 Douglas Boston.  Not the greatest kit to get back into the hobby with but relatively 'safe' ... LOL.

We're most likely moving house shortly so things will have to go on hold for a bit, I suspect.  Good news is my brother has lent me his Badger air brush and compressor.  I think it's a single action but am over the moon to finally have one to have a play with.  Heck of a saving when getting back into building.

My first build is going to be Tamiya's Challenger tank..I have the friul tracks, PE, and a pile of pics for it, just need it to stop snowing to get started

I recently bought a 2010 Yamaha Vector GT ...straight from the crate, it needs a few miles first

Guess I should fininsh the K1A1 tank first....

Italeri's 1/48th 'Tonka', the one with the Black Panther markings. Although I wont be undertaking that scheme as me and large decals don't play well together...I'll be doing the RAF No. 9 Sq. variant, the one with the white tail. It's kinda different, kinda cool. I also picked up NeoMega's cockpit as well. It's a nice pit but the blasted thing cost more than the kit by $10! It's alllll good though, it'll be worth it!

I am still building this Trumpeter 1/35 LAV-25 for my son.

After it is finished I am kicking around either modifying a Revell 1/48 scale F-15E into an F-15I Ra'am, or possibly the Revell F-18F Super Hornet.

I'll be finishing up my Hasegawa 1/48 Hawker Typhoon first, just primed and ready for painting. Not sure but I believe I'll get started on the Eduard 1/48 Lavochkin LA-7 with PE cockpit detail. It will be my first experience with PE other than seatbelts. I look forward to seeing pics of evryones builds.

Actually I have already finished my first, the Accurate Mini's re-issued Monogram Boeing F4B4 biplane. I started my second last night, the Curtis P-6 Hawk it comes boxed with.
