What to do with old models.

Donate them to a school, museum, library, retirement community...or other modelers who will keep them. I have several models which the builder thinned his collection for lack of space. They now have a new home and displayed for all to see when they visit my home. Fortunately I have plenty of room.

I wouldn't worry about getting sued. I that is the climate of your community, then sue them for stupidity, you'll probably be able to retire.

Or you can simply just pack them away in boxes and stash them in the attic...leave them as treasure for someone else to find.

Try to find a VA hospital or nursing home to donate them to.  Many veterans would get a lot more out of seeing them than some people, and they would be much appreciated.

 I gave a bunch to the local airport, they hung them from the cieling there. Many of the pilots that hung out there had gotten kits as presents, that they never built, so they gave them to me. In return, they were also hung up there after I built them.

 Then again, you may want to just pack em away in the attick, as was suggested. I wish I still had all the ones that I did when I was a kid, to redo. Some of them can't be found anymore, and if they are still availiable somewhere, the $$$ puts them out of my range.

I thought about donating some of mine to an air museum, but when it came time, I just couldn't part with my 'children'.

How about a VFW Post? Wouldn't they like to put them on display for all to see?

If giving them away or selling them, what if you put a flyer with each model that said "This Is Not A Toy, Contains Small Parts, Keep Out Of Reach Of Small Children"?  Is that sufficient to cover you legally?  This is a question, not advice.

It is a proven fact, people don't read labels, especially warning labels. That's why people smoke, stick their hands inside snowthrowers, their feet under lawn mowers and anything else that is potentially dangerous to ones health. What we need is to give everyone a shock collar at birth. When they start to do something wrong...ZAP! It they try again ZZZZAAAAAAAAPPPPPP! Pavlov's Theory in practice! Of course this isn't conducive with our politically correct world.

If I have to start providing labels and disclaimers with models I want to give away...they get placed in a bucket of Solvent to melt into oblivion.

I guess I'm gittin' old.........I can recall childhood friends telling me about what they did with their old models. A child can now be kicked out of school for even thinking about doing the same thing.

Too bad you don't know anyone with an injection machine. Re-use the plastic. Grind 'em into pellets and do like Revell or Monogram used to do before moving production overseas.

Or- maybe someone will "recycle" 'em like they supposedly do with electronics.

Enjoy the kits while you can. Someday we may be paying a deposit tax for our so called "evil" ways.

If you dont mind, I'll take them off your hands. I've done this before and taken a bunch to my local VA hospital and some to my VFW hall, some of the older guys really love that stuff. I brought in a few the one time and got a couple of the nam guys going, ended up staying there till last call, the wives werent happy but it was fun.
