Laquered model bases

Does anyone know the simple way of applying a marine varnish to a wooden model base? IE: paint brush? sponge brush, etc..?

Thanks in advance

just use a flat brush and keep it dust free and work in layers Smile [:)]

I prefer the sponge brush because I find it gives better control of the varnish without leaving brush streaks. Cleaned out, it will also pick up excess neatly.
