What tunes do you listen to while modeling?
Posted by Konigwolf13 on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 6:49 AM

As the above topic says.

Depending on the time of day and who's around, as my desk and workspace are in the lounge. Day I tend to listen to whatever takes my fancy at the time as long as it not to rock or up beat, thats just not my thing for intricate work, night time when I might be the only one around its often soundtracks that are heavy on the music low on voice.

Some examples are

Nick Cave, Crux Shadows, Tour of Duty Collection, Simon & Garfunkel, Cranberries, Tori Amos, Black Hawk Soundtrack, Ghost in the Shell Soundtrack

I tend to stick to talk radio but more often than not, I just have the TV on. It kind of keeps me company. I don't actually watch it, just listen to it.

Nothing. I find music too distracting.

When I had a PVR cable box I would play pre recorded military documentaries and build just listening in. Now its a classic rock station from Halifax that kills the silence. I have been known to get up, turn it up and rock out when AC/DC, Van Halen or Rush plays.Headphones

Most of the time I have the radio next to my bench tuned to a country-western station,  On Saturday mornings I like to listen to Click & Clack and Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me on NPR.

However, I do listen to talk radio or watch/listen to old movies/TV shows.

Old (1950's)  westerns, crime/detective dramas.

I've also been know some sci-fi.(50's, 60's)

Military channel mostly, but when the programs start repeating, it could be anything from big band, Simon & garfunkle, Jim Croce, Brian Setzer, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Helloween.

Hmmm......the last several years it's just been whatever's on the tv. Back in the day ('80s and early '90s), though, it'd be Extreme, Primus, Weather Report (jazz/rock fusion), Rush, Bill Cosby, George Carlin.....whatever struck my fancy.

I highly recommend Ed Wallace on KLIF radio in Dallas on Saturday morning.  When I lived in Texas I never missed it.  It is a show about cars but much more.  If you listen to it once you will be hooked.

Do you know if there is a live feed for that show? I'd love to listen to it on the computer in the mornings.

I listen to a lot of different music. I have some Creative Labs speakers set up on my workbench that I plug my Zune MP3 player in. Most of the music is Rock and Metal but some country and other misc stuff.

I usually listen to my favorite radio station, WWCD in Columbus. They play rock/alternative. They also air every Blue Jackets game throughout the season, so if that's on I listen and run upstairs when a goal is scored!

I usually tune into the online radio station KCDX out of Phoenix.  Great, great classic rock (deep cuts and rare songs) as well as completely commercial free.

Or I plug in my iPhone and bring up my entire .mp3 catalog and stick it on shuffle. Cool

I like to listen to that station on my car radio whenever I can pick it up. It actually broadcasts out of Florence, about midway between Phoenix and Tucson, so the signal fades north of about Camelback Road.

Ahh, that will turn into one of those infamous "were you there" posts! I was, we should all get a t-shirt!!

I tend to have the TV on in the background, as someone else said, just background noise to keep me company. (And my wife is often in the living room/model room at the same time I am...) If alone & listening to music, I'm a rock guy from early stuff (CCR, Stones, Hendrix etc.) right on through to today. Gotta be careful with Rush though, I keep thinking I'm Neil Peart & start drumming on things with my paintbrushes and exacto knives...

Talk radio, Fox News or Pandora set on Greatful Dead, Who, John Prine, Taj Mahal & Jerry Jeff Walker. Some Blues or Celtic is cool. Maybe a little Wagner or a little Tchaikovsky.  I'm all over the place.
