Shearwater Aviation Museum 12 annual model contest

Attended yesterday and here are some pictures from the show. The event was excellent and had something for everyone as it was a general hobby show as well with displays covering many different interests. Anyhow on to the cool stuff...Armour, planes and ships! The judging format was peer decisions, each entrant was allowed to vote for their top pick in each category. Votes tallied giving a first, second and third place winner in each. Most of the photos are my personal favorites + my vote.

The museum! Some 1/1 scale planes and the display area(s)

My pick for 'best Diorama' The competition level was such this entry did not place

I believe this Dieppe scene placed second in 'Dioramas'

Here is my pick for 'Best of show' and top ship model. 'HMS' Iroquois' I believe this is the kit used:

Yaa! First reply, actually more exciting pictures from the show:

Fw 190 that placed 1st last year, rules stated can only enter 'Masters' category this time. A Lancaster won 'Masters' The 190 was my pick.

My pick for 'Canadiana' category. I believe it placed second.

'1/48 scale and smaller armor' My pick for first and obvious winner in category.

This figure was not entered but the modeler who won 'figures' built this cool looking warrior. Needless to say his specialty is figures.

Here is my 3rd place finish in 'figures' Thanks for checking my post out!

'Caen airfield, France 1940'

Almost forgot the 1/35 scale armor!

My pick for 'best 1945 and older armor 1/35 scale' It was the winner.

Second place or maybe tie for first...can't recall for sure:

3rd place I believe:

Second place  for '1946 and newer armor' is the one on the right? Anyhow each modeler was only allowed 1 win per category. A mine roller won first in the category.
