Ooooooo I was afraid you'd say that.  I called MRC this afternoon and the guy who answered the phone seemed to not know what I was talking about.  I told him I needed to see about getting a set of replacement decals and an instruction sheet.  He said "For what?"

I said for a KC-135

He said "What is that?  A  helicopter?"

I said "No, it's an airplane."

He said "An airplane?  We do mostly helicopters."  Then he asked me what brand.

I said "Technically it's an AmTech kit but it was also put out by AMT/Ertl, Italeri and other brands."

The guy kept going "Who??  Who??" whenever I mentioned AmTech and he had no clue what I was talking about.  It was frustrating at best and I just said "Forget it.  I'll keep looking" and that was the end of that phone call.  I guess I'll try them again tomorrow and see if I can get someone who knows what they and I are talking about.

Help with contacting Italeri
Posted by echolmberg on Monday, May 3, 2010 5:35 PM

Hi guys!

Not sure if this sounds familiar to anyone but a while ago I asked for help on the forum trying to get decals and instructions for the old AmTech EC-135N/E aka "Snoopy".  A friend of mine sent me a kit he got off of eBay to build for him but it did not come with any decals nor instructions.

Above all else I could really use the decals since some of them are quite prominent and unique.  Maybe if I didn't have the instructions I could still muddle my way though it and figure what tab goes into what slot.

So here's my dilemma:  I know that Italeri makes a model of the KC-135 which used to be the old AmTech molds which used to be AMT/Ertl.  However, I'm having trouble finding a way to contact them.  Can I call a local distributor or do I need to contact someone way over in Italy to ask for a spare instruction sheet and maybe even a set of decals?

Or does anyone else have any other suggestions/ideas?

Thanks!

Eric
