Hey guys, i was in the LHS the other day (Wow theyve gone downhill) and i picked up a kit of a bf110. I noticed on the side all the detail "photos" that show you what your getting, were all CG. I cant remember who made the kit. but i thought it was interesting.

When did this start?

How did they do it before CAD software?

How do i obtain these 3d models?Stick out tongue

You probably picked up the new Dragon kit. They've been doing all their stuff in CAD for a few years now. Back in the day, before CNC machines and CAD programs, a guy made blueprints and a master machinist machined the parts to make a mold. That's the reason those things are so darned expensive, man's gotta be compensated for his hard work!

Look up Airfix CAD on YouTube. You can see the assembly of their new 1/24 scale Mosquito. It's pretty neat!
