I posted a photo of the tank with some 28mm Soviets hanging around. I have only base coated the tank. Still need to complete paint job and decals. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome to the forum!

I'd also like the see the finished T34 and  'The Legends of the Old West'  figures are really cool.

I've thought about getting into the whole miniature wargaming thing a few times but everyone around here its pretty much Warhammer and MageKnight as far as I can tell. MK never really caught my interest and though the Warhammer stuff is very cool Citadel is so darned expensive. And I can't really see painting an army of a hundred of more figures in the same uniforms.

I played D&D for some years and built up a collection of several thousand figures for it included some Fantasy Warhammer stuff. But a couple of years ago I dropped it mainly of players like Wirraway pointed out, most of them spent more time arguing that getting anything done.

Oh yes I started my wargaming when I was in Junior High school with the Avalon Hill series of games. We'd play for weekends and more weekends. I think Panzer leader was my favorite. Now you can play realtime games like Theater of War, and actually watch as your moves take place ! How far we have come.

Nice to see a fellow wargamer on the forums.Welcome and enjoy the great friendly atmosphere here. Its like having a model club with hundreds of members, maybe thousands, but they really are a great bunch.

Now all I have to do is spend more time building than here, the camaraderie is great !

Howdy Comradetexas!

First, welcome to the forums!

I looked up your page, very nice text. If I was to start building tanks right now, I'd probably pick up the kit you described. What I miss though, are pictures of the completed model. And I'd suggest posting them directly in your thread - otherwise people are usually too lazy to look at them.

Keep 'em coming & have a nice day

Pawel

All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Well It wouldnt be very neighbourly to let your first post go unanswered !  I only just grabbed it before it slipped off page one.  I never got the whole wargaming thing.  Went past a shop in a mall recently, there were a few guys inside playing Warhammer.  Man, some of these fellas looked like they hadnt seen sunlight in six months !  The owner tried to get my boys interested with the offer of a free game- no thanks, sez I.  Welcome to the forums and you will learn a lot- some very talented modellers here.

Modeling from a Wargamer's Perspective

Hi guys. Just picked up my first issue of FSM. Got it from my father-in-law because it had an article about airbrushing. I've been playing tabletop wargames for years and have been wanting to dabble in building more complex models (that I can play games with). I recently bought a Hobby Boss 1:48 T-34/85 and had a great time building it. I took photos and wrote an article about it on my website. Click if interested and please give me some feedback.

Also, I just joined this forum today and this is my first post. I'm looking forward to learning a lot about modeling here.

Cheers!
