I would like to go but it conflicts with the annual IPMS Seattle Spring show.

If what was said about winning entries being based on the "boss's" opinion, that is a dissapointment!

Overall, for us that aren't far away, it sounds like it could be a good experience.

Randy is very objective and I've known him for a while. I've no reason to doubt his observations on this. For what it's worth...

Would love to go but live in Ontario, Canada. A little too far. I hear they have 1:1 scales of some of the models they release.

Hey hou, I'm going I live about 45 minutes away. Unfortunately it will be my first show, and I'm just as curious as to what goes on as you!! Are you entering the competition?? I'm going to try and finish up my Tamiya Acura NSX, and Mercedes CLK GTR. Hopefully they'll be done on time!!

I'm not joining the competition. I'm only getting a "sneak peak", so I'll know what I need to do to win the Model Master next year.

A member of our club attended TamiyaCon 2003. He didn't say much about the event other than that in his opinion the best model didn't win. It was his impression that the model that won was one that caught the eye of the chairman of the company.

Lots of entrants were there. The quality of some of the entries was apparently not very good.

Lots of Tamiya offerings such as new kits introduced but no incentives to purchase. It was more expensive to buy the kit there than it was here.

He enjoyed the weather and it was a novel experience but he wouldn't go back.

That would be cool to go, but it's out of the operating budget range.

You get an all expenses paid vacation to a beach with no water, lots of sandflys and a hord of other fun events.

You forgot to mention...

All the diorama sand you could ever want!

Sounds great. Do they give sneak peaks and sell kits on the spot? Sounds like a blast, unfortunately I can't make it.

I will be at S. California this year to attend the TamiyaCon.

Will anyone else be there?

Has anyone gone before and how was the experience like?
Thanks
