Phew! If all I have to worry about is posting in the wrong area, then I have no worries now.
To answer your question, bbrowniii , Paper models are exactly that: models you download off of the internet, and print out on your computer. Most of them cost less than $5.00 (most are free) and all you need to do is print them out on cardstock (a thick paper, avalable from Wal-Mart) Just use a aherp #11 blade to cut them out and then glue them together with white glue. It's easy, anda good "while the glue dries" model (I build them while I have down-time on my workbench. Never a dull moment with one)
Here are some links, if you are interested:
https://www.fiddlersgreen.net/ -Most of the models on this website cost less than $5.00, but there are some free models floating around (I also like this site because it's rich with prototype info) This was what started the "paper ball" rolling for me
http://waspcv7.republika.pl/warsztat.htm - Free paper models of U.S. NAVY aircraft (mainly WWII) It's in polish, so I hope your computer has a translator (It's no big deal if it doesn't It's a great way to learn Polish for "Download")
http://paper-replika.com/index.php?option=com_alphacontent§ion=10&Itemid=156 - Lots of subjects. some off-beat ones, too. Plenty of free models, but a majority need a "key" to see them (I can't get them, so I havn't built them) Good military models, though
http://hudatdere.freehostia.com/index.html - Bus models, mainly. They are suppose to be geared for the HO scale model railroading crowd, but I like them a lot (O.K., I'm also a model railroader, but I represent both hobbies equally) These models are easy to assemble, also great if your a fam of Greyhound Buses (They have 7 of them) I would highly reccomend them for a first-time build
http://www.bestpapermodels.com/en/free-paper-models.html - few free paper models here, unfortunately. I figure I would include them, incase you want a model of a Russain RG-42 Grenade
http://www.papertigerarmaments.com/ -paper models of WW II tanks, trucks, aircraft, and artilery pieces. Unfortunately there is only 1 free model ( the rest cost about $3.00 adverage) If you have the money to get them, you'll probably be happy with these models ( especially if you like WWII subjects)
http://www.wayoftherodent.com/gd101/bs_paperarcade.htm -I havn't figured out the exact theme of this website, but it has some nice models of old Arcade games
http://www.axmpaperspacescalemodels.com/ - Paper models of nearly every NASA vehicle or satalite immagenable. Unfortunately, it's fairly complex ( the instructions are an adverage of 10-16 pages long)
http://combatstorm.com/ - A website for a new war-game using plastic army men (like what you probably had back when you were a kid, and/or what you could get at the dollar-store)
That's about it for what I have found that I liked. Just do a Bing or Google search if you want to find more.
