I spend more time on here than building because im online at work and im not allowed to build at workSad so thats 40 hours a week i cant build (about 10 of which i have fsm forums open, not necesarily browsing them) then another 60 odd hours sleeping, that leaves me about 68 hours for building, 5 hours a week getting ready for work (shower, watch the news, etc) 14 hours a week cooking and eating (approx) That leaves me 49 hours for building and gaming and reading...wow my life is boring, i can catalog everything i do in a week in 5 lines of text, lol

yes, it probably does work out that way,I always check the forums at work, can't build there, and if I have a couple of minutes here and there,it's easier to open the computer, then to start something complicated on your build you might mess up.

During the summer, I'm here more. With work and all the other summer crap, build time is limited. I usually have at least an hour or two per day. It's hard for me to get building if I know I won't get at least 3-4 hours in.

I'm at work even at home... (I manage an apartment building)  I come on between clearing stopped-up toilets & sinks, cleaning vacant apartments, policing up hallways, the parking lot, stalking dead-beat tennants, and while the paint's drying...

This job's a real cake-billet and I'm enjoying it...

Until last week, I was getting 1-2 hours a day of actual building in. Very good for me. Once I get going, I continue until I hit the painting, or weathering. That's the part that slows me down. Since my wife has gone back to school, it makes it easier to build while she studies in the evening. Big Smile

It's still so much easier and at times, relaxing hitting the computer.

I do a lot of my trawlling the forums at work during the day.  Ain't working for the State great?!  I do a LOT of my research for current and upcoming projects at work.  I also work on my model club's website.

At home I can usually count on a couple hours a night to work on my Stryker MGS (Take a look in the Armor Forum).  That gives me the time to do a couple steps, take some pics for the article I'm writing & get them posted here and to PhotoBucket.

I guess I'm close to 60% research and other non-building activities and 40% actual glue sniffing.

Oh, I know what you mean. Few years ago I was building a little bit but posting a lot. When I realized that I steadily built and played(PC games) more and post less... Then I got back to school and between school and work I didn't have much time for anything.

I'm on a break from school (man, did I need it) and I'm back at building and this is my first post in a couple years Smile

During the week, yes. I rarely get to my work areas on the days I have to work. But on weekends it all depends. It seems like this month my days off have been quite busy and cut in to my work time. And I am just sort of not in the mood to do too much currently for the past few weeks after headaches I have had with my past few projects. Needed to step away from the bench and recharge my building enthusiasm batteries. My vacation starts from work at the end of this week, so I am sure I will finally finish some projects up once that happens. Lots of time and no pressure/deadlines.

The first thing I do everymorning is run over to the computer to check FSM...  (sickness..maybe).  But reading the forums everytime makes me want to run to my work bench and start building.  Then I run back and forth. Indifferent  Of course this is not intruding on personal hygene.  I build in the shower also. Hmm  J/K.  Seriously though, I dont know if its subleminal or not but reading the forums makes me want to build really bad.

PS: I was gonna start a new thread about it, after searching I found this one and figured to post here to.....save paper?

It varies for me. When i am at home i can't build so make up for it by coming on here alot. When i can build i try to limit myself on here and spend more time building. Don't always work but i try.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I was just thinking about this the other day .... I was thinking that I sure don't have a whole lot to show for the time that I spend sitting at my bench. Then is donned on me .... I spend an awful lot of time surfing, whether it be here, other modeling sites, looking for kits on ebay, researching, etc, etc ... Now that I think about it .... after sitting at the bench for about 4 hours yesterday, all I got done was a couple of custom masks!!!

Not really sure how to combat the "issue" other than just move my computer .... Hmmm.....

Well, the past month or so has been good to me as far as building goes. I am actually getting some stuff completed. Six since after Christmas as of yesterday. Of course it does not hurt that I have many kits at "near completion" point to where they only need a solid day or three of work to finish up... At this rate I may have made good dent in those by spring...Stick out tongue And then if I move my time on here to night time when it is not practical for me to be doing finishing work...Hmm

I am no different than most of the folks posting here. I find myself on this site at work and every time I'm online at home.  As for the modeling time, well, I have yet to do anything this year.  Been to busy with work, kids, the house, and resting from all the above.  I too don't wanna sit at the bench unless I can pull at least 2 hours on it.

From the 'old threads dug up' file.......lol. Sorry, had to note it, but my hand is up with those guilty of replying after said exhumation.....

Yeah, the wife noted I spend a lot of time on here as well. But I'm with ripcord in that surfing here inspires me to hit the bench. I don't need a certain amount of time to build, but I just have to get to it. I find it easier to log on, plus I think a lot about roadblocks in builds that I'm trying to resolve.

My only two completed kits last year were WIPS from the year before! I did start about 3 other builds and helped my son complete 2 of his.

I need to finish more in 2011 to start denting the stash. Hahaha, whom I fooling?

Well I am technically online 24/7.  My PC is in my bedroom along with my pathetic excuse for a work bench. lol  I don't get out except for Doctor appointments for the most part, so I leave the PC online all day and night, watch TV Play the PS3 or work on kits.  I have my email check every minute for new posts, and I always leave a browser window open with the site on it.

CoffeeMornings are a write off until I get a pot-o-coffee down. Hence I am here reading & posting before most are online unless they live down under Oi!

GeekedWorking only 4 days a week now and once the Mrs. starts school that will free up Mondays!

TimeLike Stage Left said a minimum amount of time at the bench is required to get anything accomplished, lately I have budgeted progress in a mere hour!

Hmm I also ponder and build in the depths of my mind when a current project is on the bench, this helps prioritize sequence yet adds a lot of scratch built extras...Snail

I sometimes get into a zone when on the site........  I seem to continually tell myself,, "ok, one more post view and then back to building". That goes on for a few more looks and then I return to building.

Not sure if I could give it an actual percentage either way.

Enjoy the ride!
