Yup, looks that way to me too.

I hate that I missed Eagle Quest this year.  I also missed IPMS-North Central Texas' contest on June 5th.  I'm embarased to say that I'll probably even miss my own club's contest this year since my wife's got us booked on a cruise that week.  Crying

What about Supercon in September? Or is that the one you're referring to?

Yeah, I was gonna go; but don't have anything ready yet.  I'm just getting up to speed after being down after rotator cuff surgery.  I'm about halfway done with the AFV Club Stryker MGS.

Yeah, this B-29 looks like it will be pretty close.

Oh wow, I just noticed you're from Fort Worth too! The contest I entered these in was EagleQuest in Grapevine.

Good job man!

I remember the first contest I entered.  Took first place in the diorama category for a kitbashed project that I finished at 6:00 in the morning, the day of the contest.

My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on Saturday (06/26) and she bought me the Revell 1:48 B-29.  This thing is freakin' HUGE!  Big Smile

Again, congrats on a good showing!

Thanks everyone!

REslusher, hope you have room for that monster! Cool

One of the entries that also won something was a TU-95 that I think was 1:48, pretty nice job and it was the largest aircraft entry there. I think the wingspan was something like 3 ft. at least.

Congratulations on your Gold and two Silvers in your first contest. YesBeer Excellent result.

Thanks!

Oh I forgot to mention what models got which awards: The TIE and V8 Interceptors both got silver, the Zero got the gold.

Greets all,

Well my first contest went better than I expected: I won awards for all three of my entries! 1 Gold and 2 Silvers, and also won a pair of pretty nice WWI aircraft kits in the raffle. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised...I really wasn't expecting to win anything.

The V8 Interceptor below was originally going to be on a different base, but because I mixed the celluclay with too much liquid it warped the wooden base, and IMO wasn't useable for the purposes of a contest.

As I mentioned, this was my first contest and the level of talent displayed there was simply astounding to me (except mine heh). There was some really serious skill displayed, and for me served as something to aspire to in this hobby.

As well as being my first contest, each of these entries marked a first in my modelling experience: first car ever, first scratched bases, first prop aircraft, and first time to do a SW subject.
