Trumpeter comes up trumps
Posted by lolok on Friday, January 9, 2004 1:44 PM
even though Warsaw at -14c/ 5f had to go and check any new kits.
Well, trumpeter does it again. Bought the 1/350 Sovremenny, should go nice in front of the 1/200 version. Plus 4 new 1/700 KIROV class cruisers. Bought the P.VELIKIY. Both have the waterline option and the Sovremenny has photoetch just like it's big brother. Also saw the 1/32 Warhawk in RAF markings.Big Smile [:D]

What do you think of the Sovremenny and Kirov kits? I've been waiting for them to come out in this scale. Now if Trumpeter would put out 1/700 kits of Soviet carriers... Smile [:)]

Both very good,The 1/700 are in partnership with PITROAD of japan. Mouldings good. I always check the size of gun barrels to give me an Idea of moulding quality and scale fidelity. Well everything looks good. I just wish they were better at paint details. Then again lots of manufacturers are guilty of that. I heard they are bringing out a couple of Russian Navy Carriers. With the 1/700 you have choice of USSR or Russian federation navy decals. The waterline option is a good bonus. I may go back on Monday and buy the other three, though they do look rather similar. The P/E with 1/350 is a little thicker than say gold medal models but then it will be more forgiving if you screw up and have to reshape.

Thanks for the information, lolok. BTW, do you know if anybody has a kit of the Soviet Delta SSBN class?
