Hey,SMEAGOL you are right about that! The problem is right now pickins are kinda thin at the one I usually go to.There are two dedicated sellers who have models ,but ,sometimes they think their models are "gold plated"know what I mean??There is a seller that comes from NEUVO PROGRESSO down in MEXICO about once every two months and he has some good stuff. The last time I went I got the "LARGE" version of the CORVETTE coupe by MONOGRAM.The box was still factory sealed,"no kidding"!!$ 5.00!! Ships are rare and armor is rarer. Aircraft  are common ,but,I still haven,t found the MONOGRAM "CENTURY SERIES" F-100 in CALIFORNIA ANG markings. That plane got me (in natural metal-"foilchrome!) a national GOLD medal in the VETERANS NATIONAL CREATIVE ARTS CONTEST.No I didn,t enter it ,my patients that I worked with did. I truly enjoyed that build. The simplicity of MONOGRAM,coupled with smooth surfaces resulted in a whoo! model.I did find the 1/48 scale F-104 at the F.M. and the only thing missing was the fella what flies the boid! I am hoping that the BANDAI line of 1.48 scale ARMOR will show up sometime,Those little GERMAN armored vehicles even had interiors!!.Good hunting guy!!   TANKERBUILDER

Oh yea, we dont have dedicated sellers where I go you just gota hope.

I did come away with something VERY good non modeling

an ORIGINAL darth vader action figure from the 70s in the package

and those bandai model kits are nice, bandai always goes above and beyond.

I find even if the model kits you get there are old or whatnot there great practice, especially if your new to the subject, I use the autos and airplanes for that.  I have alot of trouble with planes.

HEY SMEAG!!! You are so right on that. The last trip to my fave flea place netted me some OLD kits from AMT .Do you remember their CRAFTSMAN series?? I got the 59 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL and the 64 VALIANT SIGNET ! The one fella had a 56 CHEVY(MONOGRAM,S re-release of the original in black )AND because it was still sealed he wanted 40.00 bucks!  Can you believe that ! I guess someone told him because it  was more than five years old it was a collectible.I told him you could still get it in the local hobby stores "sealed" for 16.95 !  He asked me to leave his stall! Oh well!!  tankerbuilder

I was at a local flea market and I saw two books one titled "Model Making" and the other titled "Ship Modeling Mccann" they were letterset titled, each for $9.00. I thumbed through them, they looked interesting and the price wasn’t bad, so I bought them. When I arrived home and looked at them closely I found that the owner had collected original articles on model ship building from Popular Science Monthly from1926 –1933 by Armitage McCann and bound them into a book, with a typewritten index page , the other book has ship and model coach articles by other authors from Popular Science Monthly dated 1927-1930.

The books are very enjoyable but the ads and the other articles on the back of the page distract me.

Thread, I resurrect thee.

40$ all together for these.  I also got a transport from Space 1999 for 5$ for myself for christmas.  I only had so much cash, the lady and her husband had 5 or 6 Tupperware containers FULL of models, only ones that were 5 were those Jurassic park, Tamiya 1/24th and the space 1999
