Hi, DOOGS ATX! I don,t usually build much armor anymore.I got spoiled by BANDAI,S 1/48 scale GERMAN ARMOR(with full interiors!!) so I have NOT built any 1/35 stuff at all! I don,t build planes much either. They(the planes)have to have some significance in my life and only in 1/48 scale!! I prefer my ships and cars.In those I haven,t built too many(3) wooden ships and no HIRO or POCHER car kits.I am trying now to build down my stash as I am not getting any younger. So I guess it,s safe to say armor and most planes.    tankerbuilder

Despite my 30 plus years of model building I never built a P-51 or a F-4 Phantom.i just never was interested in  building them..Although the 1/48 Hasegawa  Phantoms look tempting!

Yup.  I have been wanting to build a F-16 since i got back into modeling about 4 years ago and now its about the only one that is missing from my collection of modern day top 4 fighter jets i call them.  Being the F-14, F-15, F-18 and F-16.  I am currently working on a 1/48 F-14 Tomcat.  Just finished an A-10 warthog.  So Hopefully i will come around and purchase a F-16 kit.  1/48 scale.  Anyone suggest one?  Preferably i would like a single seater, but i will do the double seater as well at some point.

I am actually looking also into starting to get into WW2 Armour.  I almost bought my first WW2 sherman the other day and instead i bought my very first Air brush got a badger 200 i think it is.  Works pretty slick.  I was just working on doing some pre-shading on the Tomcat this morning and need to spray it tomarrow see how it comes out it will be my first time useing this technique.

I have deffinatlly learned soooo much since joining this website.  I am so addicted its not even funny.....Big Smile

There's just SOOOOO many!!!!

No regulars really stand out. Aside from three each of Russian, Brit, and Jap planes, everything has been U.S. or German.......aircraft.  The only thing missing from WW2 Navy singles would be a Bearcat.

Most of us tend to dabble in our little corners. Modern jets. WWII armor. For me, at least for the foreseeable future, that corner is WWII aircraft. My first model, more than 20 years ago now, was a snap-tite P-51D. I've built Corsairs and Jugs and 109s...but I was thinking today, and was absolutely stupefied not by what I've built, but by what I haven't built.

Here's, off the top of my head, a list of totally blindingly obvious WWII aircraft that I've never made:

  • SBD Dauntless (well, until yesterday)
  • F6F Hellcat
  • TBF Avenger
  • Any Japanese aircraft
  • Any Soviet aircraft (rectifying that at this moment)
  • Fw 190
  • Hawker Hurricane
  • Ju-87
  • Bf-110

I know there are probably a dozen or more others I've never touched, but these are such prominent, famous aircraft that I'm kind of dumbstruck I've never managed to get to them.

Anybody else got any gaping blindspots?

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought
