HobbyLink Japan factory tour of Fine Molds

I've seen several posts for "How are models made" on several FSM forums.    Figured I'd post here as a central location.

The following YouTube link is part one of an interview with the president of Fine Molds (Japan) discussing choice of subjects and showing some of the CAD/CAM design functions

Be sure to check back later for the tooling and manufacturing processes

Ed, thanks so much for linking these videos.  I find them facinating.

How many companies do you think have these machines in house?  It must be a great advantage to be able to make molds without having another company do it for them.  I imagine they are quite costly as well; Fine Molds must be doing well.
