Quick cheap fix...and it felt good.
Last night after the wife and kid went to sleep, I was not tired one bit. I went to the basement "mancave" and wanted to model...but I just didn't want to run that noisy Campbell Hausfeld compressor and possibly ruin the peace.
So I busted out a cheap (Won it on ebay for .99 cents) Starfix 1/48 Bf109 and glued it together. The model itself is TERRIBLE. It is underscale by alot compared to my other Bf109 models. In real life the rivets would be 2 inches or more to scale on this kit.
The interior is worse...I ended up just painting the inside of the canopy black. I didn't paint anything else, cut the prop blades off, and made the wheels positioned up. I think this was truly intended to be a toy...so I made it like one.
I have to say I felt like a kid when it was done. It was awesome to whip up a kit in under an hour. I'm going to give this to my son as a new toy. I highly recommend for good therapy and to have the sense of instant "accomplishment" to anybody.
