If the drive sprocket turns, you should be able to get it back on by doing the same way you'd put a bike chain back on, ie:, hook it into the teeth and turn the sprocket while running the track back over the idler... As for saving the weathering, can't help ya there... Track is flexible, weathering isn't...

If you got everything glued, well... That's another story.. The problem with stretching it to get it on is that you can't "un-stretch" it after it's back on...

Best bet would be to be to sew it back together in an inconspicuous place and apply a little "mud"  to camouflage the break...

Need help with tank track !
Posted by MLabonte on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 9:39 PM

  Hey everyone,

Well as the title says it I need help with my tank track, this is what happened. My boy "9" wanted to bring my model tank to school to show it off and when it came home one of the main wheels were broken off so I was able to take the track off in one piece since it's the flexible plastic type and glued the wheel back on. Now I can't get the track back on " to tight of a fit " with out breaking another wheel. Anyone have and suggestions on how I can stretch it with out wrecking the weathering that has been done to it. Maybe a hairdryer to heat it up and then try to stretch it on ? Anyone run into this before ?

Thank's

-Matt
