Sounds like fun, could do a "Rat-Bike". Tamiya 1/6 Harley = good candidate or their Magna.

Other GB's I signed up sorta died and I also got delayed with waiting for kits and  work issues. So motivation on those is low right now.

Awesome! Glad to see there's interest in this one!

I'll get a thread up and running in the GB section probably after Thanksgiving ahead of a February start.

Also going to have to resist the temptation to put Lindsay Lohan on the badge (talk about weathering...).

It is kind of annoying eh? If I remove the ampersand in the subject line above and then if the next person responds to me then it should be gone. I guess the forum software has a little glitch with using characters in the subject line.

Been working on a blasted and burned out Panther Ausf. G w/o zim for the past few mos.  Even if it's 2/3rds done could I still get in?

I'm getting kind of group built out at the moment (ever find yourself trying to fit non GB kits in between all your GBs? I am ) so I think I'll pass. I do love to read through the technique based GBs even if not participating though as they can be very educational. The NMF GBs have been great to see different techniques demonstrated.

I would ask that you consider allowing all types of weathering though, not just beat to death stuff. I know imagine the cheekyness of asking for a change to a GB I'm not going to participate in.

I just find the more subtle stuff to be as difficult or even more difficult than the heavily weathered stuff (I can always cover my mistakes with more mud) and beyond a simple wash I'm pretty weak at the more subtle weathering techniques, like faded paint, Arizona pin stripping, road grime, exhaust staining, minor dents & dings etc and would love to see some of these lighter techniques shown off as well as the heavy duty stuff.

In fact I have had an idea for a zombie apocalypse grocery getter floating around my head for awhile. If it doesn't have to look like it died by the side of the road 10 years ago, I might join in after all. I'm sure running through crowds of zombies would take the shiny off of a truck pretty quickly and lead to its own unique weathering needs.

Subtle is acceptable, too. In reality not everything had a chance to weather the same way anyway, so a Tiger roving the Ardennes is going to look a lot difference than a Wildcat at Guadalcanal or a well-fed and cared for P-51 staging out of some airfield in England. 

So basically...something more than factory fresh!

Got it, from the first post I was imagining rotting junkyard stuff. I'll try to find some time and give it a go with the zombie cruiser, it should provide a good canvas for a few different techniques I've been wanting to try.

My weathering techniques are pretty basic, but I would be willing to give it a go.  Maybe a pacific theater Corsair or P38.  I think I have an old Revell P-38 in 1/32 in my stack..  I also have an old parts Revell 1/48 B-25 kit that has enough in it to build if I fabricate some of the parts.  That might look better weathered.
