I am working on a nice kit right now.  It's the Dragon 1/32 scale P51D Mustang.  The plan has several companies making kits of it.  There is also a Hasegawa and a Revell kit in the same scale of the same plane.  There's also about a dozen smaller 1/48 kits of it made by various manufacturers.  I love the P51D..  To me it's THE iconic fighter of WWII.  The P38 is nice and I have done kits of it in the past.  The Academy kit is nice, as is the Revell.  It comes in multiple scales as well.  I haven't actually done a P40 YET.  But I have an old Revell 1/32 of it around here somewhere.  The Corsair is another nice kit, just stay away from any kit that has the folding wings option.  It's more trouble than it's worth. lol.

I would go for the P51D though.

Hope this helps.

Well I'm gonna get a kit for Christmas but for the life of me I can't decide what I want.  I've thrown around the idea of a 1/48 A-20, He-111, or D-217, but then remembered my whole stash consists of nothing smaller than a B-25 so I kinda want to do a smaller build.  So then I got to thinking maybe a fighter of some sort; a P-38 or P-40 or something.  Hell maybe even a Corsair or some other navy fighter, I don't know.  Any suggestions on any of the planes I've mentioned?

In the Hangar: 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18D RAAF Hornet,

On the Tarmac:  F4U-1D RNZAF Corsair 1/48 Scale.

Sounds like you need a fighter for your collection. P-40's are classic.

There's a couple of P-40 threads in Aircraft---check 'em out and maybe the bug will bite you...

Just get one of each and you won't have to decide.

Flip a coin for the type, flip it again for the model.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
