I dont know about Tamiya 35 scale kits, but their 48 scale ones go together no problems. As for 35 scale? I've never had any problems with Dragon or Trumpeters later 35 scale kits.

If any of that helps

Just about all of Tamiya's modern tanks are pretty easy to build. I've watched a 10 year old solo-build (but not paint) the 80's vintage Merkava 1 in the space of about 3 hours.

Tamiya's M1 Abrams kits are fairly simple builds, as are their Challenger 1 kits. If you put them in the overall Sand color schemes worn in the Middle East, painting is pretty simple too. NO complicated camo patterns.Geeked

I built it. Quite simple, like most Tamiya kits. Decently detailed too, except it doesn't have the non-slip surface.
