You talking to me?
I've seen museum dioramas too, at the Royal Ontario Museum mostly, and they're of the sort you discuss. While they do a good job demonstrating their subjects I don't recall too much that's awesomely impressive about them, other than their size. Lori's builds, though (made with the help of an unnamed assistant) are extremely impressive, and it saddens me that such masterful work will likely be set aside in the fine arts world in favor of some unskilled work of "shock" art.

I grew up going to museums where this kind of work (maybe larger) was showing the civilizing of man. I am awed on not only the quality but the completeness of each piece. This kind of work would probably drive most miniaturists crazy !! I for one applaud this lady for her perseverence and dedication to quality in miniature. We ALL could learn from her , could,nt we?? I guess I will just have to do more on my ships. tankerbuilder

A blog I normally read clued me into some recently finished awesome diorama pictures done by a rather talented artist of, well...I'll let you see for yourself:
Built from scratch, I understand. No idea of the scale, but I'm heartily impressed.
