question about instructions ( DRAGON Model)
Posted by patsfan12 on Saturday, January 15, 2011 9:20 AM

so I got  a new dragon model my first

the 6303 on the cover of FSM

after you build one of the guns the directions have the paint numbers just pointing at a piece of the gun, thats it

does this mean the whole gun is that color or that part I've never seen a schematic like this before

I was tempted not to help you because I am not a big fan of New England Patriots...only kidding there!  Normally German panzers have buff (off white/ivory) color painted for its interiors.  You can look at pictures of King Tiger at Patton Tank museum... I googled to find this picture.  Google is a great tool if you wan to find more pictures.

I use Model Master Interior Panzer Buff #4805.  Go Jets!

Could you post a picture of the instructions?

I have noticed that Dragon's paint instructions are really nasty.  I have their P51D in 1/32 scale and they reference paint numbers they don't even have on the chart.   I usually just look for color images of the subject on Google and go by the images.

In the Hangar: 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18D RAAF Hornet,

On the Tarmac:  F4U-1D RNZAF Corsair 1/48 Scale.

Oh, that's the machine gun... not the main gun I assumed you were asking about.  For machine guns, it is usually painted in gun metal color.  Some MG 34s came with very dark wooden handles while other handles were in black for the vinyl type like shown in the picture.  I usually use Model Master Gunmetal then highlighted with MM Steel or lighter.
