Managed to get out of a prior commitment so I'll be heading down from Austin to check out the goodness. Anyone else going to be there?

I'm heading down there Doogs - planning on hanging out most of the day down there.  You should bring  your Sherman and enter it!

Yep, heading out in a little while to see if I can find something to spend my tax refund on. Big Smile

Well, have to say that was a nice little show...scored some more boxes for the stash

  • Dragon Firefly Vc
  • Trumpeter KV-2 (done up as captured German with a trick camo scheme)
  • Tasca M4A3E8 (gorgeous, but why does Tasca make me hate their barrels so much?)
  • Hasegawa Typhoon Mk. Ib w/ the teardrop canopy
  • Tamiya Spit Vb

Now I kinda wish I'd entered something. Don't know if I would've won, but I think I might've snuck in there somewhere. Maybe there's a "first contest entry" pity award or something.

I'll definitely be entered at the Austin show in the fall. Though with what...I'm not sure yet.

The show was very successful.  It was easily twice the size of last years show and at least twice as many people had entered models.  I didnt buy a single kit but did find a nifty sable brush LOL.  I was prepared to walk away with several kits and just didnt see anything that struck my fancy.

It was a really good show.  Lots of outstanding models on display, I wouldn't have wanted to be a judge in this one, it would really be tough to decide what was best.    I picked up a 1/72 RG Go-229, some airbrush accessories from the Grex booth, and some decal and paint sets.

I'll be at the Austin show in October or whenever for sure. Planning my first-ever contest entries this time around!
