Battle Damage.

Something like that is fine if the viewer of the model isn't going to be any closer than say 15 feet. Battle damage is three dimensional and so it should be replicated in that way. If there is a hole I want to see into or through it!

Wow!  I thought that was pretty cool!  I agree with Gerald in that it should be 3D, but it would cool to make the holes in the plane, tank, etc and then put a "scorch mark" around it.  I don't know that it would ever replace the look of a hand made job, but it would certainly be a different option to go with.  Very interesting if I do say so myself.  I'm all for various options.

Might work for people that only wanna show photos of their models, but it'd never fly at a contest... Depicting battle damage (especially flak-damage on aircraft, since the sheet metal gets punched in AND out) is an art-form in and of itself and the judges know it...

Can't do this with a decal...

Save up the decal money and buy a Dremel tool and a couple steel-cutter bits...

Think they are more intended for Sci Fi kits and would look ok on small scale ships depicting blast damage, But as others have said damage should be 3D, and the larger the scale, the less convincing these would look.

Personally i would be a bit wary about ordering from them again. I ordered something early last year. they took the money out straight away, but then a couple of weeks later i had not yet recieved it. Over the next couple of months i sent several e-mails and phoned, leaving a message on their answer phone. But they never got back to, though i did recieve their e-mail news letters. The item did turn up in the end, but i was a bit annoyed in how they operated.
