Group Build Fealer?!?!?!?!!!!
Posted by Goodness180 on Friday, May 20, 2011 3:53 PM

So posted this in the Group Build section and got no response so i thought i would try here before totally giving up on the Idea.

The idea is to do a Group build for a Pratt & Whitney Engine group build.  Only plane's with a pratt and whitney engine would be excepeted.  Just looking for some thoughts on it to see if anyone is interested.  Maybe some interest later on down the road when the current GB's die down a bit.

Your Thoughts????

Thanks,

I like the idea, though to be honest i am not sure what aircrfat that would include. But, and i could be wrong here, usually am, but now could be bad timing. I know i can't join any new GB's at the moment. maybe list some of the aircrfat that used these engines, see if that attracts attention

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

aircraft with pratt and whitney in it, so that excludes what? theres days P&W have a hand in just about everything. I like the idea of a radials one, or a P&W radials gb though.

Or, going the other way, we can restrict it more- only build a P&W engine.  Williams Bros has a Wasp Jr. engine that is very nice!  I wish WB would do more engines- I have built all the ones they have re-released.  Would love for someone to do some large scale water-cooled too.  We really need a 1/8 scale Allison V1710!

I'm in too many GBs (about 7) at the moment...  But trutfully, when I hear "Pratt & Whitney", all I think of is the R-2800...  It was "King of the Round Motors" in WW2 and beyond, lol.. They have a sound, when flying by on a P-47 or Corsair at 250 knots, that's just friggin' MEAN...

But I'm still partial to that throaty moan of a Packard-Rolls Merlin going by...
