Need help remembering a Kit

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

Hi guys;

The other day I was remembering a kit I build when I was a child, and there is no way I can find any kind of information. It was a train, but is a plastic building kit, not a train’s hobby type of model.

I remember it vaguely, so almost all of this “facts” can be wrong.

  • It was a steam train
  • It was in a large scale, something like 1/24
  • I was the locomotive and a wagon full of wood chunks.
  • It came with a base that simulates the rail road.
  • I think it was from ACADEMY or maybe Monogram.
  • I was from the early 80’s (the kit, no the subject)

 Looks very similar to this, But I think it was RED, no green.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Any Ideas are appreciated, Thanks in advanced!

Edgar.

Not so fast! That was the General (Western & Atlantic Railroad Engine #3), the stolen train in the Great Locomotive Chase. The pursuing train was the Texas (Engine #49). See: http://trains.nute.ws/4-4-0/Great%20Train%20Race.htm
