Mother daughter kits

Ok I could have said father son kits too but I figured to go with my preference :)

But I am not talking about making a model with your daughter actually.

No I call them mother daughter kits when you have a small one and a larger scale one and they are the same item.

I just got the 1+1 offering from Dragon of the Sherman M4A1 76W that also has a Jeep. Wanted to see Dragon at work on the jeep actually, the tank is the extra to me :) Anyway, I also have a Hobby Boss Sherman in 48th scale and an Italeri in 35th scale. A sort of 'Sherman Family' if you will.

Almost tempted to paint it pink hehe Awww isn't she cute, looks just like her father around the fenders.

Anyone else here make kits with intent to display the same item in progress scales?

I think I understand what you are referring to.......

Other than a simple scale to, different, scale build,,,, It is called "forced perspective".....

It's utilized in image / photography depiction / deception.       Giving the effect of depth to a photo by using a larger scale in the foreground and consecutive smaller scales in the background (depth of field).

It is a very cool photo method and I have seen it produce great results,, (I have not tried this yet though).

OR,,,,,,,,,,   I could be totally missing what you mean    (hopefully not)

I think I understand what you mean - as in, just building the same item, but in different scales?

I certainly do...well, intend on doing.

I have a 1/72 and 1/48 Hasegawa F-14 with the VF-84 Jolly Rogers Markings.  I also intend on buying the Trumpeter 1/32 F-14 which has the Jolly Rogers markings too.  That way, I'll have a complete scale family of them.
