it may be too far along now, without seeing what you're looking at, but i've found that using a plastic weld like tenax, ambroid pro weld, tamiya cement works best if you have to rescribe over a seam.  I haven't tried using the welds that i mentioned AFTER using (potentially since I don't know what you used) something else like CA.

it might be worth trying running some of the plastic weld along the join to soften the plastic, sand it smooth, and then try rescribing.  since you've used fill you'll have to find a way to remove it  first.  what you can use to remove it depends on the brand though.  EX:  squadron green will smooth over and can be removed a little at a time with nail polish remover.

Peace through superior firepower.

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

It just takes a lot of practice to be able to do is consistently.  You have to use less pressure when you get to where you have the filler than you were using on the plastic, or the filler will chip or cause what you are using to scribe to wander.  Also try using a pin or sewing needle to scribe instead of the commercially made "scribers".
