Canada eh!Yes

Hosted by newly formed club:

Central Nova Scotia Modelers

Looking for a few good modelers in the area to display some of their work!Hmm

Small venue in main library with room for 9 more exhibits. Table space is 4'x4' per modeler and need to know if interested before mid August.Time

Have a few science fiction builders, a 1/144 scale commercial aircraft guy, a couple armor & military enthusiasts with the club signed up to displayHeadphones

So.. a few ships, some cool cars and a few more would fill the exhibitors range perfectly.Geeked

Also open to the public with free door prize draws!AutomobileTravel

No admission fees for exhibitors or public.2 cents

All for building enthusiasm and possibly new members & modelers in the community & surrounding area.Star

Hope to host a contest next year if the Expo is successful!Cool

Hmmmmmmm - Truro... I wonder if I can convince my wife that we need to go visit the family in Yarmouth that weekend & just "stumble on the show" as we're driving through Truro? Hmm

Well it would be nice to see you and some of your work Vance!Cool

Haven't stopped in the Horton 229 thread in a while... ever get yours finished?Hmm

I must admit I never got started yet the kit did arrive.Embarrassed

Anyhow it should be a great afternoon of model displays and discussions. Hopefully we will gain some new MOJO's for the club and spark a interest in the hobby!Headphones

Displaying or just looking, I'd love to get down as I missed the Fredericton show but I'm not sure it's going to make it onto my schedule this year.

The Horten took a break, summer weather is keeping me on a ballfield as often as I can manage it, and I've been picking away at some other kits that are in need of finishing (P38 for that group build, a little Airfix Fouga Magister are now done - in the final stages on a pair of Japanese planes and two Bf109s…. How I had so many on the go at once I'll never know. NEVER AGAIN!!!)

Soooo, once I've put a dent in those I should be able to get my brain back on-track for the wing.

Sounds like you fell into the 70 -30 category.

That is 70% of your models are 30% complete.

Found 'Weekend Madness' was therapeutic for this affliction.

Anyhow I hope the Expo is successful and I will post photographs of the event after its held.

Have the poster all over town, going to place adds in the local newspaper & radio station.

Any other suggestions to help get the event a good turn-out?

Advice will be appreciated & replied to.

Thanks!

Jason

Like the new title states would like to see some club logos.

Here are a few rough drafts I came up with, its evolving and will post more if the thread gets replies:

Winnipeg Jets kind of borrowed my theme!Hmm

Show your club's logo! More of the evolution later.Cool

The military roundel fell out of favor as the members thought it was categorizing the club as military aircraft modelers.

The evolution continued to this:

I always like using the Maple leaf in logos. Did one for my paintball team using the Maple leaf years ago that was well liked.

The one above didn't really cut the standard so revisions were made.

Hoping someone replies with their club's logo?

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Thanks for the reply Alfie!

I like your clubs logo, eye catching and to the point.

My next proposal dropped the 'Maritime' for 'Nova Scotia.' Apparently Moncton  NB. is the geographical center of the Maritimes so claiming that would not work.

The new name is 'Central Nova Scotia Modelers' which works yet I wanted a more regional feel to expand the (hopefully) contest next year, may as well aim high from the start right?

Anyhow here is the next proposal I came up with:

This is where I drop in & let you know I like the roundel version! Whistling But then again, I am an aircraft guy I suppose. Any thought to using a few smaller maple leaves? It could allow you a little more (proportional) size for the lettering & tools.

Jason, I like the one with the maple leaf, simple, colourful, and gets the point across.

And since you did ask here's ours:

Normally we use the Virginia one in the NW corner of the page and use the four cowboys for our annual show.
