I remember getting lucky one time, when I had a little accident involving a bottle of spilled paint and a decal sheet for an SR-71 Blackbird. Figured the kit was a write-off, but happened to find a AM set on the clearance table at my LHS! Wasn't even looking for it! paid all of 3 bucks for it!

*******

On my workbench now:

It's all about classic cars now!

Why can't I find the "Any" key on my keyboard?

I am all for the best deal when possible. But if it is close, i will opt for the LHS just to help support the business. Mine have been good to me, so I return the favor! I went back to the sales decal rack  today during a quick stop on my way to AMPS chapter meeting (convieniently located near one LHS). I found another decal sheet for the Bf-109G-14 in my stash...Wink

If the price is the same, then it's a case of figuring out if sales tax and gas will cost more or less than shipping. Some of those Ebay sellers have been gouging on shipping! Others are quite reasonable.

Well, if I went back to get it, it would cost much more. It would be about 2 gallons of gas added to the price. No sales tax in Oregon. So in my case, it would be cheaper to order the one I saw off of ebay for the same price. Ebay=no gas.

Nav, it was markings for a Me-109G6 with the 21cm rocket tubes. Markings are for a JG 3 machine. There is something about those fighters with the rocket mortars that appeals to me, and I could not find any markings for one until I stumbled across this sheet. They also had plenty more on sale there that I may be interested in so I will have to go back.

Tigerman, sometimes you just cant pass up a bargain like those kits on sale if you are even remotely interested in one or two... If you do, you kick yourself in the butt later for missing the chance.

I know, I know. Sounds petty, but it wasn't the variant I had my heart set on, so I balked. I recently found it on ebay too for the same price.

I walked in to buy Testor's pink label glue and walked out with a 1/32 A-4E....  didn't need it, but who can walk past a Scooter and not want one?

My old LHS got some new owners and lo and behold: a sale on select Dragon kits. I couldn't believe it. I was so close to picking up a kit, which I haven't done in at least 7 or 8 years. I still might go back and get it since it's even better then the onlines and ebay.

Today I took a trip to one of the LHS that I frequent for some supplies. I found most of what I was looking for, then did the usual browse to eyeball for new stuff and clearance items. I spied a batch of decals on the clearance table and started going thru them. Lo and behold I found a sheet that I had been wanting in there. Well cant let that slip out of my mitts...not only to find it in stock, but on cleaance. so I came home a happy camper will all the primary targets in hand and one nice discounted bonusStick out tongue
