Oh come on!!!  You know someone wants to say it!  I'm surprised nobody has yet.

It's 229 miles.

114 miles one-way to Mark Twain Hobby shop in St Charles (St Louis).

Hobby Lobby is only 3 miles away, but they don't really count.

About 12 miles round trip to Hobby Town, one of just two in my area. The other is about 17 miles one way and has a slightly better selection, especially in magazines and paints.

Guess I am lucky, if I put my arm into it, I can hit my LHS with a rock from where I live (distance wise, the buildings in between technically would block the shot).

I usually stop in and say hello any time I go out for a walk.

I must be spoilt - 4km one way to my LHS.

1km one way to a Toyworld which has a pretty good selection of models and paint supplies.

Chris.

Yup, you're "spoilt"!

20 miles one way, but I have three projects within a 1 mile radius of it (downtown Berkeley) that I go on site at least once a week.

Fermis, it could be he sold his stock.

Their banker must have actually loaned them money for short term operating expenses.

Your know, we could populate an entire “Going Out Of Business” cluster. (Aaron, are you listening?) What’s the average one-way distance to a viable LHS among the forum membership, I wonder?

We have one LHS left for a metro area of appx. 400,000

Used to be able to walk from school to two LHS in Chicago, then take the bus to 2 others

Currently, 13 miles distance one way.

Our local Riders Hobby (in Ypsilanti) was planning on closing the doors, tomorrow. That would be the 5th shop to close up, in as many yearsSad. I was in a couple weeks ago, they had sales tags everywhere, still too pricey for me! I figured I'd get in there near the end and snag a few really good deal. So, I go in yesterday, the store is about half empty.....I feel some deals coming!!! All the sales tags are gone and they figured out a way to stay open.

So, no deals for this guy, but they are staying open....at least for a while anyway. I suggested they drop their prices a bit, they could sell a lot more!
