Bish - haven't seen you in awhile!

I have had real dramas getting on line from camp the last couple of weeks. I have been lucky to be able to make a couple of posts a day. The weekend when i am hoem is ok, but then i am busy catching up and doing all the usual things at home. But has meant i have been getting some modelling done.

ditto on Vance... I've got a Kingfisher I'm building for a guy who's got a 1/48 scale Fletcher DD,, trying to finish my Valoom Airacuda..and my F-15 for the Wildwings.

I have my son's old Laptop next to the desk in the Mancave...

Ps.. stay tuned.. I will be doing a MANCAVE wip !! ( taking over my son's old bedroom.. going from 8x8 to 12x12 and 2 windows !! Big Smile

A 1/48 Fletcher!!!!

Surely we'll get pics of that!!!

there is a pic of the DD in my Kingfisher thread, I'm, also wiring the engine of the Kingfisher with a motor so the guy can make the prop spin by remote control...

That is gonna be just too cool!

Whao....nice room size.  I am in a very small bedroom with one window...kinda cramped, but I don't care.  I am very thankful for it....thanks to my bride.!!!

check, thats 2 more than i have got done, and its my build. But the new decals are on the way, and should be here within 2 weeks, so i will hopefully get mine finished soon.

hutch, i know the feeling. I have really over commited to GB's in the last couple of years. Now, with 2 exceptions, i won't be starting any new builds for a while as i have to catch up on stuff i want to finish because of it.

My biggest problem is that my laptop is right next to my work bench, and i can't put it any where else. Even on a good night, by the time i have connected, read a thread, written a reply, realised i have lost connection, got it back again and sent my reply, an hour has gone by. My connection is only getting worse and i really need to learn to leave the lap top off until just before i go to bed. Then if i can get on, great, if i can't, well theres nothing that won't wait until the weekend. But that seems to be harder to do than give up smoking. I would leave the lap top at home, but i ahve alot of decent referance stuff on here.

The internet is a double edged sword.

Yeah, this rig's the old Win 98 I bought back in about November of 99..

Takes me all of five minutes to open a second IE window, go to PhotoBucket, open the album I want, upload a pic, save it, open it, then paste it in here...

I use the wife's rig if I gotta post TWO pics in one post...

Since I moved my computer into the War Room, right next to my bench (obstensively to be able to bring up reference pictures on the screen while building), I've had no problem being on-line here and building at the same time...

Don't ever'body?

We inherited my in-laws old computer and I set it up in the Man Cave.  It is over seven years old with little capability...Internet is about all it is good for...big CRT..takes up a lot of bench space.  I, too, am using it for reference and occassional gander on the forum and such while building....nice for reference, but it barely limps along.  I have to go to my other computer to post pics.

Thanks, Hutch:

my wife and I were talking this summer about maybe a vacation to Charleston in the future sometime.  This would be one more reason to head in that direction.

Never been in it, but it is right off I-95 near Savanna.  I go by it all the time on my way to see my Mother in Florida, but never stopped...looks pretty cool...here is a link to their site:

Hi, Hutch:

I haven't looked into the Revell Fort yet, but it's supposed to be superior to both Hasegawa and Academy's efforts, which are the only one's I've had first-hand acquaintance with.

I don't think I realized there was an 8th AAF museum in SC.  Where is it?  Worth a trip?

Used to live in NC, though, a lot of years ago--still say "y'all" when necessary.

Bish

Good idea. Unfortunatly some of these discussions are getting out of hand and even driving people away. I am looking forward at getting back to the bench tonight, not getting a connection and getting some modelling done.

I find it all disturbing myself when I think of all that is going in this world. I got laid off 3 months ago and still can't find a job so you won't see me whining in these threads, because life is bigger then any of us. Life is too short to blow a gasket over posts and this and that. Modeling has been a great diversion and building and member's support has greatly improved my mindset.

Thanks to my friends. Beer

Hello, back at ya.  I committed to that GB some time ago.  But over extended myself, too.  I finally got around to purchasing the new Revell 1:72 B-17G.  That is destined to be a 303rd Bomb Group bird.  I hope to get to it before the end of the year.

I drove by the 8th AAF museum this week for the umpteenth time in SC and didn't stop in...shame on me.

Hi, Hutch:

At least some of the rest of us are reading your post and not adding to post counts by joining the dust-up (that was meant to be humorous).

Bish has an 8th AAF group build going on, and I need to start soon on the B-17 "Our Gal Sal," or it'll be over before I finish.  At least I got two done.

Unfortunately I took on the Spitfire group build, and have been concentrating on that.
